Downhill & Enduro

Hi, my name is Rebecca Beaton. I was born and raised in the Pemberton Valley where I now learn and play on the unceded territory of the Lil’wat Nation. I've been a Ride Like a Girl athlete for the past two years and am now incredibly excited to be transitioning to an ambassador role. When I first joined Ride Like a Girl, I had never raced downhill or enduro. I was really interested in racing, but I was nervous. Between the many supportive mentors, board mentors, and the rest of the RLG athletes, I was inspired to face my fear and go for it. In 2023, I will be racing the complete BC Cup downhill series as well as a handful of enduros. The community that this program creates is unlike anything I have experienced.
In the spring of 2022, I started a program with the support of PORCA (Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association), my local Trail Association. This program, Girls on Wheels, is a free, weekly social ride for girls aged 12-18. It's a non-competitive, non-apologetic, non-coached ride for girls to get together, share knowledge, gain confidence, and support each other. My hope is that with the support of Ride Like a Girl, I will be able to create more opportunities for females in the bike industry like this one. I love this sport and I want to share my passion with others.
