Keely Hamilton

Enduro, Cross-country, Cyclocross & Gravel

Hello! My name is Keely Hamilton and I am from Cranbrook in the East Kootenays. I am stoked to continue to be a part of this incredible program! I race cross-country mountain bike and gravel in the spring and summer, and cyclocross in the fall. I enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the wintertime as well. I work in a bike shop in town, called Northstar Bicycle Co, which has been such a great experience! This year I will be graduating from high school and am going to the University of Victoria for engineering in September. I will also be going to work in Japan for a handful of weeks in July and August before heading off to university!

I was an athlete in the program from 2021 to 2023. My first mentor in 2021 was Kim Shopland from Fernie, and my mentor for the 2022 and 2023 seasons was Julie Kelly, also from Fernie. I am so thankful for all that I learned from them; I was able to grow as a rider and racer thanks to the advice they shared with me.

In 2024, I plan to race a few gravel races in the USA, the Cranbrook Gravel Grind, and Gravel Nationals at the Ghost of the Gravel. I also plan to race two Canada Cups in Quebec in early June and compete in a few other XC races.

I am very excited to be taking on this role as ambassador this year, and I can’t wait to meet this year’s RLG athletes!
